Warm Stone Massage

Warm Stones are polished basalt rock and feel wonderful on the skin. I heat them to a temperature of 150-175 degrees in water. Once they reach a tolerable temperature, I place them on top of a towel so the heat may penetrate through to muscles around your spine. While you relax into the warmth, I use stones to massage your legs, allowing warm coconut oil to work into the tissue.

Once a few minutes have passed, I remove the stones from the towel and massage them directly onto your softened back. Techniques like effleurage are emphasized to keep a flowing rhythm. I proceed to using my hands for deeper work into your muscles. Heated stones are then applied to your arms, shoulders, and lower neck area.

The front of your body is massaged in a similar manner with warm stones placed on a towel for the abdomen. I make sure to return to areas of focus with my hands, working deeper into heated tissue to unwind tight muscles. This modality is deeply relaxing yet also “deep” in the muscular relaxation you experience. It is ideal when you are feeling overly stressed and depleted.

Amanda’s skills in using the Hendrickson Method® techniques have provided noticeable results in dealing with old injuries and the challenges of everyday life. I began working with Amanda a few years ago and have been impressed with the new skills and abilities that have come with her Hendrickson Method® experience. The techniques and results go beyond those of typical massage and have been able to affect areas more deeply than I have experienced in traditional massage.
