Best Massage in Petaluma for Knee Injuries is Hendrickson Method

Knee injuries and replacements can be painful and take a long time to heal. Sprains, torn meniscus, muscle strains, and an ACL tear can all affect the knee’s ability to stabilize, move in flexion/extension, and bear weight on the affected leg. Massage can impact the healing by assisting in reducing swelling, addressing scar tissue if it’s a post-op replacement, increasing stabilization through use of neuromuscular re-education, and joint mobilization to increase function. I use myofascial release and Hendrickson Method for clients with acute or chronic knee issues and have good results. Massages always include treatment of the foot/ankle and hip as well!

The work I do with clients can assist the physical therapist’s efforts to strengthen an injured or replaced knee. Balanced strength/length combinations around a joint allow healthier movement patterns. Improved movement means less degeneration, less discomfort, and inflammation. The significance of strength is important if a knee has been replaced.
